What is Pet Portraits by DRM?

Dylan Rhodes-Murphy is a self-taught portrait artist specialising in black and white acrylic portraits. Pet Portraits by DRM is a website dedicated to creating hand painted commissions of your favourite pets that will last a lifetime.

 

What animals can be painted?

Any animal can be painted, the artists' Gallery page will show some examples of previous clients' commissions. These include cats, dogs , horses, hamsters and hedgehogs.

 

Are the portraits all hand painted?

Yes all the portraits are fully hand painted by the artist Dylan Rhodes-Murphy meaning you get your own unique piece of artwork every time.

 

What are the exact sizes of the canvases?

Silhouette A4 canvas = 21cm by 29.9cm

Silhouette A2 canvas = 59.9cm by 42cm

A2 canvas = 59.9cm by 42cm

Large canvas = 91cm by 61cm

 

How do I place my own personalised order? 

Click on the portrait you like on our Portraits page. On the page you'll see an option that says Choose File, click this and add the photo or photos you like of your animal/animals. Next add this to your cart and check out.

 

Can I use any photo of my animal?

We ask that you choose only the clearest photos of your animal with no part of their face obstructed. The better the quality the picture is that you send over the better the portrait will turn out.

 

What sort of picture do I need for a silhouette portrait?

Please take a picture of your animal from the side, showing the side silhouette view as seen in the artwork photographs. This will help the artist paint an accurate side profile portrait of your animal.

 

Can the portraits be painted in colour?

Unfortunately the portraits can only be painted in black and white, this is because the artist is colourblind.

 

Do I need to frame my canvas to display it?

All canvases are ready to display without the need for framing.

 

How long will it take?

Standard delivery takes 5-7 working days to arrive with you. If you need your portrait to arrive sooner than that we have an express delivery option at checkout which takes 3-5 working days. Unfortunately we do not offer next day delivery as the artist needs time to paint the portrait.

 

Can I get a time lapse video of my portrait being painted? 

The artist films all of the portraits being painted, this will be sent to your email address once your portrait has been finished.
